Entrepreneurial Flirtations
The artistic flair is downpat.
For the fact that I haven't made it especially far in my flirtations with music, writing and film, its time to combine the three. Having been keeping myself in practice with these three hobbies, the skills have developed to a point of feeling a bit more like a professional.
So where to from here? Buy out a film production company? Apply for a grant from some government-funded body? Stress a connection til the relationship is weak in the knees?
No.
My artistic temperament has flared to a point where I have decided to create something I haven't tried before, but have certainly thought about. The only capital I will need is social capital - the ability to make something out of what minimal resources there are available. The only promotional material I will need is providing a contact on the bulletin boards of MetroScreen, AFTRS, and NIDA.
It will be a one stop shop for all your concept writing, screenplay development, score composing and cinematographic needs.
Could it be...
.......a business?
As far as I can see, its all about getting the interest of the producers. These co-writers and directors seem to have fluctuations in attention span and you can expect me to sign off without asking about copywrite issues before the slump in interest has ceased. Sure the actors have pretty faces and are good at socialising, but they want money in their pockets too.
WIth some income from such a business and production companies becoming interested, there should come a time for expansion. If I find myself over my head in work, it'll be time to hire out some other young guns, struggling in stride.
I guess that's my business plan, for the world to see.
Stay tuned for some more music clips once I get myself a damn USB Capture Card. Don't know how I could ever do without it.
