My Idea of Paradise
I woke up late in the morning today, feeling shockingly stung-up by the swilling and swigging of the night before. In a haze of confusion I thought to myself 'Am I working today?' and realised I wouldn't be able to even if I was.
So out of the bedroom and into the beautiful day that lay in front of me. Its late winter in Sydney, but today is just one of those days where the beach is reminiscent of something close to paradise. Close...
So after the usual hangover cure, I watch this:
At this point I am ready and willing to get out of the house whisting Frank Zappa's Camarillo Brillo (damn that songs a classic) and navigating my way around something new like a switch bluntslide.
So I head down past the markets, through the crowds, to the skatepark with gusto. On the way I think to myself I should learn said song and busk down the beach with it and a few other by-products of joints and jams.
Yes it is now. I'm feeling this vibe. And these women are looking gorgeous. Yes! Paradise. Skateboards, guitars and a place to use them. That's all that's needed really.
And, of course, somewhere to write about it afterwards. No I didn't land anything new today, but everyone knows that doesn't matter on days like this. Especially when you've just seen a eurochamp like Lucas Puig doing everything to the ninth degree. And the fact that this world can produce talent like Frank Zappa through all its complexities and adversities.
Bon Appetit is a classic skate video. Catch it if you can. And Frank Zappa's album 'Over-nite Sensation' is definitely worth observing and I will catch it when I can.
Here's to the warm weather. Cairns does not have what we've got right here right now. Have a nice day :->

Flashes of memories
Hey Opto! Long time no chat. Sounds like you are doing well. I felt like youdid on Saturday morning - just slightly under the weather. With the storms that we have had recently the tree next door fell down - at a ridiculous hour of Saturday morning they were sawing and chipping the tree - right outside my window. NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!!!!!!
My cousin is a skater freak - the guy who did this video was incredible and the tricks the skaters did were great too.
Nice to see you in the land of the Orble again
be well friend
Ash
